About Caressa
Greetings! I'm Caressa, a devoted coach, mentor, and tutor committed to fostering student success. With a background in Chemical Engineering and extensive involvement in UConn's INCLUDE Project (an inclusive teaching initiative in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering), I've refined my skills in providing empathetic support to students with diverse needs. As a neurodivergent, multiracial Latina, and first-generation college student from a low-income background, I deeply empathize with the challenges faced by underrepresented students.
My tutoring philosophy is grounded in positive psychology, a strength-based approach, and boundless compassion. Throughout my academic journey, I've served as a graduate TA, mentor, and CONNECTS mentor, gaining invaluable experience in effectively communicating with students to tailor support to their unique needs.

I will tailor my lessons to what works best for students. Before we begin getting into content we will have a consultation where we discuss your goals, your strengths, and areas of challenge. If in university, I will ask for a copy of your course syllabus and schedule if in K-12 I will ask for copies of your homework assignments in advance along with the areas you would like to focus on so I can prepare adequately for our lesson.
