About McLaine
I have a master's in cell and molecular biology from Tulane University, then graduated from the University of Vermont Larner College of Medicine and am currently a Pediatric Resident Physician at Johns Hopkins. Throughout graduate school, medical school and residency, I’ve developed a passion for teaching classmates, medical students, and junior learners. I know firsthand how challenging subjects like physiology, pathology, and clinical reasoning can be, and I love breaking down complex topics into clear, organized concepts that are easier to remember.

The sciences can feel overwhelming, but I believe that with the right approach, anyone can build a strong understanding and confidence in the material. My goal as a tutor is not just to help you memorize facts, but to help you truly understand the “why” behind what you’re learning so you can apply it on exams and in clinical settings.
Whether you’re a high school or college student taking basic sciences, preparing for medical school exams, USMLE Step exams, shelf exams, or need help mastering difficult coursework, I’ll tailor our sessions to your individual learning style and goals. I strive to create a supportive, judgment-free environment where you can ask questions freely and build confidence with every session.
