About Patrick
I have tutored dozens of college students in individual and group settings in science classes while I was an undergraduate at UC Irvine. I worked as a professional tutor for the LARC center teaching college-level cell biology and organic chemistry for ~6 months, preparing bi-weekly lesson plans and providing review sessions prior to exams. I have also tutored college and high school students independently.
I specialize in tutoring the biological sciences but am also fluent in chemistry and calculus-based physics at the college level and a variety of other subjects at the high-school level. I graduated magna cum laude from UC Irvine and am currently taking a break from completing a masters degree in Bioengineering from Stanford university. I also have extensive research experiences in the biological sciences (5+ years) and can utilize my personal experience in lesson plans.
I am flexible regarding pay, time, and tutoring subject and am willing to provide the best service I can.

My teaching methodology revolves around two main ideas: tailoring my lesson plans based on the individual student's need for each lesson, and specifically preparing the students for exams and other high-point parts of a class, rather than a more general preparation. By tailoring each lesson to the student's needs their time is not wasted, and by preparing for and focusing on the parts of the class that have the most impact on their grade the student's grade will go up the most with the least amount of time on their part. Thus, my teaching style is flexible, focused on the student, and focused on improving academic performance.
