About Jaeseong
For approximately seven years, I dedicated about 10 hours weekly to working at a university tutoring center, where I honed my skills in diagnosing individual student challenges and developing tailored learning strategies for diverse learners. My experience includes concrete successes, such as guiding a 7th-grade student through Algebra 1 and 2 to achieve an 'A' grade, and similarly helping an 8th-grade student master Geometry and Precalculus, also resulting in an 'A'. These experiences highlight my ability to effectively guide learners across different age groups and levels of understanding. My instructional approach emphasizes systematic homework management and consistent practice to thoroughly prepare students for assessments. I provide patient guidance until concepts are fully grasped, fostering a supportive environment where questions are encouraged. I hold two primary objectives for my students: first, to achieve significant improvement in their mathematical skills, and second, to cultivate a genuine appreciation and interest in the subject along the way. I categorize students into three main groups: 1. Students who are falling behind in their school math classes: My primary goal for this group is to quickly improve their grades. I achieve this by having them work through numerous practice problems, ensuring they become thoroughly familiar and comfortable with the material being taught in their school. 2. Students who are keeping up well with their school math classes: For these students, the objective is to maintain their high grades. I assist them with managing their homework and preparing for tests, and we also preview upcoming school lessons to keep them ahead. 3. Students who want to learn math at a level higher than their current school curriculum: I help these students prepare for advanced challenges such as AP courses, the SAT, and the ACT.
