About Taya

Hello! My name is Taya. I have over 15 years of experience working in Japanese companies and hold a teaching license in geography and history. I studied Western history at university and am currently learning French, so I understand how it feels to learn a new language. I enjoy yoga, watching Netflix and anime, and traveling, especially around Europe. Being from Osaka, I can also speak Kansai dialect — let me know if you’d like to learn it! I always create a relaxed atmosphere so you can enjoy learning. I’m looking forward to seeing you in my lesson!

If this information is not provided, I cannot reply because it would waste your Student Pass credits. If you do not write your preferred date and time and I don’t respond, please resend your request.
Lessons are online only.
Lessons will be conducted in Japanese. (My English is not fluent, but chat is possible if necessary.)

Each lesson includes a 5-minute break, so the lesson time will be slightly shorter: 30 minutes → 25 minutes of actual lesson 60 minutes → 55 minutes

Japanese Conversation Lessons
Lesson focus: Improve your spoken Japanese through natural conversation!
This class is perfect for learners who want to:
・Build fluency and confidence
・Practice real-life communication
・Get used to natural, casual or polite Japanese
What we do:
We talk about topics you enjoy—daily life, travel, hobbies, news, social media, Japanese culture, and more. I’ll gently support you so you feel relaxed and comfortable, even if you’re shy or unsure No textbook is needed. If you’d like to bring an article, video, or anything you’re curious about, feel free!
Genki I Textbook Lessons Lesson focus:
Study beginner-level Japanese with the popular textbook Genki I. These lessons are ideal for students who want structured, step-by-step learning.
What we do:
・Hiragana, Katakana
・Basic grammar & sentence patterns
・Vocabulary and kanji from the textbook
・Speaking, listening, reading, and writing practice
・Review and gentle corrections I’ll adjust the pace to match your level and goals.
Please prepare your own copy of the Genki I textbook (digital or paper is OK). We can also review homework together if you’d like! If you have something specific you’d like to focus on, I can adjust the lesson for you — so feel free to let me know!

Lessons are conducted on Google Meet or Zoom. Payment is required in advance. Please transfer the fee to my Wise account before the lesson.
My available lesson times are
Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. (Japan time).
Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., and Sundays from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. (Japan time).
