About SANDRA

I sang professionally at the Crystal Palace in Aspen, Colorado for 12 years, I sang for cruise line companies, I sang and played the piano for hotels, and I have been the Head of Music at 3 school; 2 national and one international. I have taught private voice, piano, and acting in Palm Beach, FL. I have run Broadway singing camps and comedy writing workshops. I feature students who can play the piano, and my recitals were all at the Steinway Piano Gallery in Boca Raton. I established private lessons programs at one school I taught at as well as after-school arts programs.

About the lesson

I have a Bachelor of Music Education Degree - 5-year degree from Friends University in Wichita, KS. I am certified to teach K-12 grade vocal music. I sang professionally for over 20 years, and I took piano lessons for 13 years since the age of 4 and 5 years of college piano. I specialize in Musical Theatre and singing exercises with weekly homework assignments where the students have a recording to work with. I teach how to sight-sing by using solfege (Do, Re, Mi, Fa, Sol, La, Ti, Do). Part of learning how to sing is learning how to read music. With piano lessons, I incorporate music theory into my weekly or bi-weekly lessons. Students are required to practice 4 x per week using my singing formulas and working towards performances for family members and recitals. The lessons for singing consist of vocal warm-ups, vocal techniques, singing songs that are appropriate for learning vocal technique. Even if the student is struggling with pitch, I can help correct that. My students will also learn how to sing parts in choral music, and jazz standards as well as classically oriented songs and musical theatre. Piano lessons are learning the very basics to gradually moving up with piano songs that are interesting as well as classically oriented. I feel like my students learn a lot with me, and I am keen on progress and self-improvement. I am very much results oriented.

I give a card that has 5 or 10 numbers on it. If they cancel, they lose that lesson.
It is because it gets too easy to come and go as they please, and this way, they will value the lesson more.

They can schedule the lessons how they would like to, but once the lessons are scheduled, they need to stick with the schedule, and if they cancel, then they lose the money. It counts whether they are there or not. This is my policy. My time is valuable, and I must be able to count on my clients and their financial commitments.
