About Glasgow
I recently completed my PhD in History of Art and Philosophy and am now working on turning my research into a book — so I know what it means to think deeply, write clearly, and sometimes wrestle with complex ideas! I love teaching because it brings learning alive — whether it’s finding the story behind a historical event, unlocking how language works in literature, or thinking about how we see the world through philosophy and art. I believe learning should be challenging but joyful, and I love helping students develop confidence, curiosity, and a voice of their own. Teaching is also a two-way street: I learn just as much from my students as they do from me. Whether you’re aiming for top grades or just want to engage more deeply with your subject, I’d love to help you get there - and to enjoy the process along the way.

Hello! I’m Glasgow - a 28-year-old London-based tutor with a background in teaching Art History, History, English, and Philosophy from GCSE right through to MA level. I’m passionate about helping students find their voice and confidence in these subjects. Whether we’re unpacking a tricky essay question, exploring big philosophical ideas, or learning how to read an artwork more deeply, I aim to make learning both engaging and empowering. Alongside my academic work (including teaching at UCL and the Slade School of Fine Art), I’ve tutored students of all ages and abilities. I know how different everyone’s learning style can be - so I focus on building a supportive, flexible approach tailored to each student. If you’re looking for a tutor who will meet you where you are and help you get where you want to go - with a little bit of curiosity and creativity along the way - I’d love to work with you!
