About Ivy
About Me I’m Ivy Liu, a professional designer and artist with over 10 years of experience in creative direction, illustration, and UX/UI design. I’m passionate about teaching and have had the privilege of guiding my 9-year-old daughter, who loves to draw and paint, helping her develop her artistic skills. This hands-on experience has deepened my understanding of how to teach art in an engaging, supportive way. I offer personalized lessons for students of all levels, focusing on traditional techniques such as drawing, sketching, and watercolor. My approach combines professional expertise with a love for creativity, ensuring a nurturing learning environment where students can grow with confidence.

My Approach as an Art Tutor:
I focus on personalized, hands-on learning, tailoring each lesson to fit the individual student’s needs and skill level. My method emphasizes the fundamentals—such as sketching, shading, and watercolor techniques—while encouraging creativity and self-expression.
Typical Lesson Plan:
Warm-up: Quick exercises to get the student comfortable with the materials and techniques.
Skill Focus: A targeted lesson on a specific technique (e.g., shading, blending, or basic watercolor).
Practice: Guided, real-time practice with feedback and tips.
Wrap-up: Review the session’s progress and set goals for next time.
What Sets Me Apart:
I bring a unique combination of design and traditional art expertise, offering not just technical guidance, but also creative insights to help students develop their artistic voice. My approach is both structured and flexible, allowing students to progress at their own pace while ensuring they gain confidence in their craft.
Who My Lessons Are For:
These lessons are designed for beginners to intermediate learners, ages 8-12+, interested in improving their traditional art skills. Whether you're looking to explore drawing, painting, or improve existing techniques, I provide a supportive and engaging environment to foster growth.
