About Zane
I’m passionate about helping students grow and become their best through Chess. With 5 years of teaching and competition experience, I’ve had the chance to guide players from school all the way up to college. My greatest happiness comes from seeing my students improve their skills, gain confidence, and enjoy the game more with every move. Over the years, I’ve successfully trained many players to think strategically, solve problems, and perform under pressure — both on the board and in life. Some of my proudest moments include helping a team win a school championship and seeing a student reach their highest rating in a tournament. I believe Chess is not just a game; it’s a powerful tool for developing patience, creativity, discipline, and forward thinking. My aim is to make sure each student finds their own way to grow and succeed, while loving the process. Let’s make your Chess journey a rewarding and enjoyable one!

My teaching methodology focuses on helping you grow through Accountability, Creativity, and Communication. I believe that Chess is not just a game — it’s a way to learn thinking skills, patience, and decision-making that you can use in many other subjects and in life. My approach helps you take responsibility for your progress while we work together on strategies and tactics.
I use creative games, puzzles, and realistic scenarios to make Chess easy, fun, and challenging at the same time. This lets you discover your own style of thinking and playing. We also practice communication by talking through moves, analyzing games, and exploring ideas together. This prepares you to explain your strategies and make strong choices under pressure.
Besides Chess, I can help you with related subjects, like math, logical thinking, and problem-solving skills — all of which connect to Chess. My aim is to make you a smarter, more adaptable, and more independent player. Whether you want to improve your opening strategy, learn powerful endgame techniques, or become more comfortable with competition, I’m here to guide you toward your goals.
