About Sable
With over seven years of chess teaching experience, I have worked with students ranging from absolute beginners to competitive players preparing for rated tournaments. My goal is always to make chess both intellectually engaging and personally rewarding for every learner I teach. My approach is practical, structured, and tailored to individual goals. Whether a student wants to improve casual play, join school competitions, or simply enjoy the beauty of the game, I craft lessons to suit their style and speed. I emphasize understanding over memorization, helping students grow through real application and review. I’ve played in numerous club events and online tournaments, and continue to study chess theory and updates in modern opening lines. This ongoing learning fuels my passion for teaching and sharing the depth of the game. Chess is a lifelong journey, and I’m here to support each step with knowledge and strategy.

Lessons begin with solid fundamentals: how to control the center, proper piece development, and safe king positioning. Beginners learn to recognize common opening systems like the Italian Game and Queen’s Gambit, gaining a practical foundation for future growth. We work on checkmate patterns, simple tactics, and key endgames like king and pawn versus king.
As learners gain confidence, we shift toward analyzing tactical themes—pins, forks, discovered attacks, and mating nets. Students are introduced to notation, game analysis, and calculation methods to improve decision-making. We also explore positional understanding such as pawn structure, open files, and outposts, while applying these ideas in real games and puzzles.
Advanced lessons focus on deep opening preparation, nuanced endgames, and evaluating imbalances in complex positions. We study master games to extract patterns and learn to plan several moves ahead. Each session is built to enhance calculation, foresight, and confidence in tournament or club-level play.
