About Dorian
I’m a singing tutor with over 6 years of experience and a Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) in Vocal Performance. I specialize in working with adult beginners, hobbyists, and those returning to singing after a break. Whether you're aiming to join a community choir, sing at karaoke nights, or simply enjoy music at home, I’m here to support you. My lessons are relaxed, positive, and designed to make learning feel joyful, not stressful. I focus on breathwork, vocal relaxation, posture, and tone development to help you build a healthy, expressive voice. Mindfulness is at the heart of my teaching—helping you stay present, confident, and connected to your sound. I teach a range of styles including Jazz, Folk, Blues, and Contemporary Adult music. We work together to explore what you love and what helps you grow. I’ve seen how singing can become a form of self-care and a way to reconnect with creativity. You don’t need to be perfect—you just need to be curious and willing to try. Let’s begin or restart your singing journey together, for the joy of music at any age.

My teaching approach is built on helping singers develop precision, control, and expressive freedom. I focus on vocal dexterity through targeted exercises and thoughtful technique. Lessons are structured around mastering vocal agility, clean runs and riffs, melisma, and navigating complex vocal lines with ease.
We break down tricky passages step by step, building confidence through repetition and musical understanding. I guide students to connect breath, tone, and rhythm for smooth, graceful singing. Whether preparing for solo work or ensemble settings, I make sure every voice gets the attention it needs.
I work especially well with those performing in harmony-rich settings, where timing and control matter most. My support is both technical and encouraging. Students learn to listen deeply, adapt quickly, and bring clarity to every note.
Visual and audio tools are often part of our sessions to help reinforce technique. I provide detailed feedback while celebrating small wins. With the right practice and support, you'll move through challenging vocal embellishments with confidence. Together, we’ll unlock your voice’s full potential.
