About Malik
Hi, I’m a passionate guitar tutor with a BM in World Music, specializing in Guitar Traditions. I combine deep academic training with real-world experience in metal, shred, and progressive rock. Over the past four years, I’ve worked with both young learners and adult students, helping them unlock speed, control, and advanced shred techniques. My lessons focus on building a strong technical foundation while keeping creativity alive. I break down fast passages, sweep picking, alternate picking, and tapping into manageable, step-by-step routines. I also introduce rhythmic complexity and phrasing for progressive styles. We’ll train your hands and ears to respond with precision. Alongside technique, I teach tone shaping, pedal setup, and practice strategies that lead to long-term growth. I love showing students how global influences shape different guitar traditions, even in heavy music. Whether you're into classic solos or modern metal, I help shape your sound and expand your musical vocabulary. If you’re ready to play faster, smarter, and with more intention, I’m here to guide your journey. Let’s turn raw energy into refined skill.

My guitar teaching approach is centered on creativity and expression. I help students turn emotions and stories into original music using structured songwriting tools. Together, we explore chord progressions, lyrical flow, and how to shape acoustic arrangements that feel honest and personal. I make sure students understand how melody and harmony support their message.
We dive into techniques like fingerpicking, strumming patterns, and voice-leading to give each piece its own sound. For those interested in songwriting, I guide them through brainstorming, lyric writing, and musical form. Whether it’s a blues ballad or a gritty rock anthem, I show learners how to bring their vision to life.
I work especially well with The Blues Seeker and The Aspiring Rock Star. I help them build confidence while pushing their creativity forward. Song ideas are broken into clear steps, so the process stays fun and inspiring. I also encourage recording small demos to hear growth over time.
Each lesson is practical, flexible, and geared toward turning ideas into finished songs. Let’s build a songbook that feels like yours.
