About Lou
I am a dedicated piano tutor with over 8+ years of experience teaching students of all ages, from school and college students to working professionals. I believe that learning piano is not only about mastering technical skills but also about fostering creativity, confidence, and a lifelong love for music.
My teaching methodology emphasises clear communication, patience, and personalised instruction. I design lessons that match each student’s abilities, goals, and learning style, focusing on fundamentals such as finger strength, hand coordination, rhythm, and sight-reading.
Alongside piano, I incorporate music theory, ear training, and rhythm practice to provide students with a well-rounded understanding of music. I make lessons engaging by including creative exercises, improvisation, and song-based learning. One of my strengths is helping students simplify challenging concepts and build consistent practice habits.
I strive to create a positive, encouraging, and motivating environment where students feel confident and inspired to improve continuously. My ultimate aim is to guide students in achieving their musical goals while nurturing their love for piano.

I follow a student-centred, engaging, and creative teaching methodology. I believe piano lessons should be fun, motivating, and tailored to each student’s goals and abilities. Through consistent communication, I understand each student’s strengths, challenges, and musical preferences, which allows me to design lessons that are personalised, meaningful, and inspiring.
Creativity is a core aspect of my approach. Students are encouraged to improvise, compose original music, and experiment with various musical styles, fostering artistic confidence and developing a personal musical voice. Flexibility ensures lessons are adapted to the student’s pace, skill level, and learning style, creating a positive and rewarding learning experience.
Alongside piano, I teach music theory, sight-reading, rhythm exercises, and ear training. This integrated methodology strengthens technical skills, expressive ability, and musical understanding. My goal is to help students become confident, creative, and lifelong musicians.
