About Porter
You likely find that balancing hand independence with fluid musicality is a lifelong pursuit. I have spent 13 years navigating that exact space between the stage and the piano bench.
Teaching 269 students has taught me that everyone learns differently. We will tackle pedaling technique and complex chord voicing together.
I also enjoy helping you master sight playing and pop or contemporary styles. For those interested in formal benchmarks, I provide structured grade exam prep for ABRSM and Trinity. My own path has been a winding one, but I have enjoyed every moment of my performance journey.

Most players hit a wall when they cannot remember how to play a specific passage correctly after the clock stops. Picture yourself sitting at the keys while I mark up your music to highlight the tricky transitions we just practiced. I provide free access to my annotated practice notes after every lesson so you have a guide for the week. My 8.0 differentiator is the clarity I bring to complex arrangements through these notes.
With 13 years of experience, I make learning simple and approachable . We move at a pace that allows you to absorb the technique without feeling rushed. I keep things steady and simple.
