About Maya
Music has always been an important part of my life, and I enjoy sharing that passion through teaching the flute. With over 7 years of tutoring experience, I teach school students, college students, and working professionals with different learning goals and musical backgrounds.
My teaching philosophy is based on patience, communication, encouragement, and creativity. I break complex techniques into simple steps so students can learn comfortably without feeling overwhelmed. Every lesson includes demonstrations, guided practice, and constructive feedback.
Along with flute lessons, I teach music theory, rhythm exercises, ear training, breath control, beginner keyboard, sight reading, performance skills, and music appreciation. These additional subjects help students build a stronger musical foundation.
My unique strength is helping students develop beautiful tone quality, accurate finger coordination, confident breathing, and expressive performance. I encourage regular practice by setting realistic goals and celebrating every achievement.
Many of my students have successfully participated in school events, college programs, music examinations, and cultural performances. Seeing their progress motivates me to continue improving as a teacher.
I strive to create positive, inspiring lessons where every student feels supported and encouraged to achieve their full musical potential.

I believe that the best learning happens when students feel encouraged, supported, and motivated to improve. My teaching approach is based on Communication, Accountability, and Integrity, creating lessons that are organized, enjoyable, and suitable for students of all skill levels.
I teach the fundamentals carefully, including breathing control, posture, embouchure, finger coordination, and tone production. As students progress, they learn scales, rhythm practice, note reading, articulation, dynamics, phrasing, and performance techniques. Every lesson includes practical activities that help students apply their knowledge with confidence.
Communication allows me to explain concepts in a simple way while understanding each student's goals. Accountability encourages students to practice consistently, complete lesson objectives, and measure their progress. Integrity helps me provide honest feedback, patient instruction, and equal support throughout the learning process.
Besides flute, I also teach Music Theory, Rhythm Studies, Ear Training, Staff Notation, Sight Reading, Breath Management, Instrument Care, Music Appreciation, Performance Skills, and Practice Planning. These complementary subjects help students develop complete musical understanding.
My goal is to help students become confident, expressive, and disciplined musicians who enjoy playing the flute and continue learning throughout their lives.
