I teach the classical style of technique and musical interpretation of the European musical tradition. With these skills it is possible to play and make music in any genre, whether classical, jazz, blues, rock, baroque, or modern and avant-garde styles of music. I tailor my methods to fit the needs of each individual student.
I began playing the cello at age 5 and studied at the Cleveland Institute of Music and the Juilliard School in the U.S., and the University of Mannheim in Germany. I have played in many orchestras including the Nationaltheater Mannheim and Hawaii Symphony. I am tenured as assistant principal of the Santa Barbara Symphony, and sub in many orchestras throughout California. Solo engagements have taken me throughout the United States, Europe, and Asia.
