About Lucy-Mae
I’m Lu, a freelance writer and poet studying at a Russell Group university. I’ve been tutoring for the last three years because I genuinely love reading and creating, and I think it’s super important to share those skills with others. Literacy opens up how we see the world and how we understand ourselves. As someone who struggled to find their own voice for a long time, watching students realise how talented they truly are is one of my favourite things, and it’s why I keep teaching.

I’m a freelance writer and poet studying at a Russell Group university, and I’ve been tutoring for the last three years. I work with students up to GCSE level and welcome learners from all walks of life. Lessons are flexible in length (from 30 minutes to 2 hours) and can be done over video or phone calls, or through online back-and-forth emailing. We’ll branch out from whatever you want to work on—whether that’s English Literature, literacy and reading comprehension, or (most of all) creative writing and poetry—so you can build real confidence in your own voice and style.
