About Katey
I am a student (Junior) at SUNY New Paltz. I have an Associates Degree in Journalism. I have been a private tutor for three years, have worked with kids for eight years and was en editor for the school newspaper in community college for a year and a half.

My teaching method includes asking the student what they are working on and what they have for it so far. I go over what is good and what needs work. I then offer suggestions on what could be better, and work with them to try and achieve that goal. I go over whatever they need help with until they understand it, no matter how long it takes. I also like giving examples, because for some people, that's the best way to understand things.

Details
If I need to travel, I will bump up the hourly rate to $20 instead of the $15 for online tutoring. I do not mind traveling if that is the only option. I will gladly accept that rate for anyone in 7th grade through college level.
