About Austin
I'm a first-year Computer Systems Engineering student at the University of Newcastle. Math has always been the subject that made the most sense to me — I love how every result builds from a few simple ideas, and I spend a lot of my own time working through pure math and physics outside of coursework. I've spent the past year as a teacher's assistant at a kids' ministry, working with Years 1–6, and it's where I realized how much I enjoy helping younger students get their first proper grip on a concept. My goal as a tutor is to make math and science feel approachable, not intimidating, to build the kind of confidence that makes a kid actually want to try the next problem.

Lessons are tailored to each child's level and pace, focusing on building understanding from the ground up rather than memorising procedures. I use everyday examples and visual explanations to make concepts click. Sessions run 60 minutes, ideal for Year 1–6 students working on maths and science. I have classroom experience supporting primary-aged children (Years 1–6), Working With Children Check and First Aid certified. First lesson is free, as it's a chance to meet, understand what your child needs, and see if we're a good fit before committing.
