About Alexa
My name is Alexa, and I am passionate about learning and STEM. In the 8th grade, I passed my first AP exam, teaching myself AP Calculus and scoring a 5 on the exam. As a freshman, I generated study materials from what I could find on the internet and earned a 34 on the ACT. I graduated a year early after receiving my acceptance letter from Yale.
I graduated from Yale in 3 years with a Bachelors degree in Biomedical Engineering and a Certificate of Advanced Spanish. Throughout my time at Yale, I was a student athlete who put in upwards of 30 hours a week with the team. I also worked as a peer tutor for mathematics and an AP Biology teaching assistant for GTP. I recently accepted a position in a Stanford laboratory, conducting cardiothoracic research. I plan to apply and attend a joint MD/Phd Program in the future.

I personalize my tutoring sessions to the needs of each student. For some, the goal is exam preparation or general growth in knowledge. In those cases, I craft an interactive lesson and teach study tools that will be essential for the student in the future. For other students, I offer homework help, guiding the student to the answers in a manner that facilitates understanding of the content.
