About Shannon
I am a recent graduate from the Yale School of Public Health (MPH) and also hold a Bachelor of Science in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology from Yale University. I have always had a passion for science and have excelled in science courses. As an student, I took courses in cell and molecular biology, genetics, chemistry (general, organic, and bio), physics, and epidemiology. As a graduate student, I worked as a teaching assistant for two undergraduate courses, "Molecular Hallmarks of Cancer Biology" and "Laboratory for Reproductive and Developmental Biology" which helped me to develop my teaching and tutoring abilities.

My lessons are always personalized to best suit the student's specific needs. I strive to ensure that lessons are fun, engaging, and informative by employing a number of techniques such as timed recall and having the student "teach" the topic to me. I recognize that learning and tutoring are collaborative endeavors and am always happy to readjust my lesson plan and/or teaching methods to ensure the most productive session for a student. I am equipped to tutor students of all levels from middle school through college.
