In teaching reading, I utilize trade books (children's stories) in teaching reading, along with phonics and phonemic awareness based on the assessments I conduct with the student to see where they are currently performing academically.
For writing, I also use trade books as mentor texts, prompts and working extensively with spelling, grammar, conventions and content.
Math is taught using manipulatives and authentic problem-solving.
My experience has ranged in teaching students in grades K-3, with my students having reached grade level or higher while in my class. I have also coached teachers to meet the needs of their students in the three R's (reading, writing, and arithmetic), along with being a principal charged with ensuring all student needs are being met.
For cancellations, if notified a minimum of 24-hours in advance, the lesson can be made up. With less than 24-hour notice, there is a fee of $25.

Frank was my principal when I was teaching elementary special education. He understood that all students have individual strengths as well as individual needs and challenges. He always supported his teachers to achieve the best possible outcome for our students. In addition, Frank has a true and realistic understanding of the challenges of a classroom teacher. He is adept at providing input and guidance that is meaningful for students but also practical to implement within the classroom. He truly cares about those with whom he works, whether they are students or fellow educators.
