About Oswald

Having grown up with a deep appreciation for the Chinese language and culture, I understand the unique challenges and rewards that come with learning Chinese.

I’m passionate about teaching Chinese because I believe it’s more than just a language—it's a gateway to understanding a rich and diverse culture. I’ve seen firsthand how mastering Chinese opens doors to new opportunities, both academically and personally.

As a tutor, my motivation is to help students not only learn the language but also enjoy the process. I want to make Chinese less intimidating and more accessible for beginners. Seeing my students gain confidence, improve their skills, and begin to appreciate the beauty of the language is what drives me to teach.

I’m dedicated to providing a supportive, engaging, and patient learning experience tailored to each student’s needs. Together, we’ll break down any challenges and make Chinese learning fun and rewarding!

About the lesson

My goal in teaching Chinese is to help students build confidence and skill at a comfortable pace that suits their individual needs. I understand that learning Chinese can seem challenging, so I focus on making the language accessible and rewarding from the very start.

With beginners, I start with essentials like pronunciation, Pinyin, and tones, building a strong foundation. This step-by-step approach helps students speak Chinese with confidence, even in the early stages. I introduce vocabulary through relatable, everyday scenarios, making each lesson immediately practical and engaging.

Additionally, I believe learning Chinese should be more than memorizing characters. I incorporate stories behind each character and highlight cultural elements to make lessons fun and meaningful. Interactive activities like role-playing and daily expressions help students use what they learn right away, boosting confidence and making lessons enjoyable.

Finally, my lessons are designed to adapt to each student’s progress and pace. I celebrate small achievements and offer ongoing support to make sure each student feels encouraged and empowered on their journey to mastering Chinese.
