About Paulo
I received classical guitar lessons for 3 years starting at the age of 8 in the city of Santa Cruz, Bolivia. Have been playing and practicing ever since. I am now a member of the Atlee HS Competition Show Choir “Illusion” and have given guitar lessons over the summer to a beginner-level student before.

I believe that music lessons and musical instruction must be uniquely tailored to the needs of each individual student. I start by laying out the basics and foundation of the instrument (parts of the instrument, how to properly hold down a string, etc). I believe that a student will learn best when they enjoy what and how they are being taught, therefore the genre of music and genre-specific techniques will be tailored to suit the student’s requests. I teach basic riffs to encourage muscle strength and comfort in playing notes, eventually leading into more complicated riffs and chords. I also believe that a profound understanding of music theory is crucial to the development of beginning musicians, therefore I also incorporate lessons in basic music theory and reading tabs. I also teach different methods and techniques used in foreign genres to expand the range of ability that the student will have. I believe that my role is to build a strong foundation for the student with the goal that they will eventually be able to developed and improve on their own and create and express their own musical styles and personality independently.
