About India
I am a young woman from America that has traveled all around the world from a young age. I was a professional ice figure skater growing up which taught me a lot of discipline. I was educated for my BA in the United States, and my MA in the United Kingdom, at one of the most highest ranking schools in the world, King’s College London, so I am familiar with American and British English. I’ve always been passionate about education, writing, and international affairs. I love meeting people from different cultures, which is why I love teaching ESL. I have both in classroom and online experience. I plan to do a PHD online next month through a reputable women’s university located in the US that specializes in education so I can fully master the subject and experience of education. My goal is to become an English professor and write a book about education reform tying in important issues like culture and social justice. I speak intermediate level Spanish and Arabic, and a little bit of Mandarin and Korean. I’ve always had a passion for languages and building bridges between different cultures. I believe that every student has their own unique learning style whether young or old, and I have experience with all age groups looking to study English through various disciplines whether it be through immersion, visuals, translation, and even certain subjects, such as reading about history, science, culture, and business. I like to get to know my students learning needs and often use the ESA method (Engage, Study, Activate), meaning we start up with warm up exercises to jog the student’s memory and motivate them, then we study what we’ve learned, and lastly we put it into practice through a game, a role play, a writing piece, or any other creative or real life activity. Most importantly, I cater to the student’s level, learning needs, and goals.
