About Gemma

Hello my name is Gemma, I am 14 years old and I am a boarding school student in Brisbane. I enjoy pushing and challenging myself in academic and extra curricular activities and socialising with my friends. I am currently enrolled in a private boarding school in Brisbane, Clayfield College. I am a dedicated and hardworking student that gets straight A's in all subjects and exceeds past my grades academic level. I have been accepted into multiple excellence programs such as NASA space camp in America, a semester of studying abroad in Canada, Illuminate Writing, Illuminate STEM, Queensland Academy Math and the Da Vinci Decathlon. I would like to go to a medicine school in Melbourne and become a neurosurgeon when I grow up like my parents. To achieve this goal i take school quite seriously and work very hard. My main passion is dancing, which I have been committed to for 4 years, as I find it expressive and beautiful to watch. I also gained teaching experience by helping younger dancers learn new skills. I started tutoring kids from grade 6-7 a year ago, and I enjoy it a lot! I love helping people and guiding them to reach their goals! Working with kids can be difficult at times, but I have a variety of techniques I use to help them and boost their knowledge and confidence in their learning. However I am aware that most kids find tutoring the "worst thing in the entire world" and I understand that, so I try to set a very friendly environment and include fun activities and creative learning methods that are relevant to the subject :)

About the lesson

My lessons consist through the use of online Cambridge textbooks that I will provide which have interactive material and detailed subject overviews. Through my tutoring experience, I understand that one teaching style does not fit everyone, so I try to customise my lessons to what is most effective for my students learning while also making it an enjoyable experience. I am very good at explaining and elaborating on mathematic and scientific concepts, and I am very skilled at improving my students understanding of laws and rules. I am very experienced in what preparation is needed for High School exams and how to exactly meet the criteria in assignments and aim for the best grades. I am extremely passionate about working with kids, and enjoy helping them reach their goals.
