About Helena
As a medical student, I am no stranger to the fantastic teaching bestowed on us during our degree. In turn, I love to teach and inspire others in their areas of academic interest. "Doctor" comes from the Greek "docere", meaning to teach, in fact. Being nominated for a reflective essay prize this year evidences my literary prowess, complimenting my strong analytical skills within my research-focussed, first-class BSc dissertation and additional biomedical knowledge from within my UCL Medical School degree.
I hold an enhanced DBS check from my other current or previous employment (respectively) at the NHS vaccination programme and Solace Women's Aid, a frontline domestic violence charity.

I've been tutoring since my sixth form at school, as well as teaching children with learning disabilities how to horse ride a Riding for the Disabled Centre, with over 150 hours of tutoring experience within the last year alone.
My online lessons include academic debates, discussions, presentations, past paper questions, interview practice, personal statement curating and proofreading, depending on the nature of the lesson's aims.
I love to help students gain confidence and knowledge in their subject area, whether that’s medical admissions (UCAT, BMAT and GAMSAT); general admissions (personal statement work, interview prep); A level (in Anthropology, Geography, French, Biology or Chemistry); or GCSE (in Sciences, Maths, English, French, German, Latin and Geography).
Further to my Anthropology BSc obtained at Durham University, I am also highly interested in sociology and linguistics, as well as behavioural ecology and psychology, which featured heavily in my dissertation, for which I received a first class mark.
My lesson lengths can be between 45 minutes and two hours on either my premium Zoom account or through Google Meet.
