Laura is the sweetest woman I have met. Whenever school work is a subject she gets serious and makes sure to keep the conversation relatable and knowledgeable. Laura is great at keeping you on track and she will correct you when needed. She has tutored me before and she improved my math skills alot, she taught me what to do and how to do it but made me do it by myself so that I would learn properly. She knows how to help you and balance learning with emotions. She’s very helpful and communicative.

Laura was assistant principal when my 22 year old son with Autism was in high school. She bent over backwards to assure his IEP truly reflected his needs, and that it was followed by all teachers. He struggled so much with math, and Laura got him all the help he needed. I credit Laura and one other teacher for my son's graduation.

Fast forward to now. I am homeschooling my 3rd grader and she hit a roadblock in language arts that I was struggling to get her through. I reached out to Laura. Not only did she recommend a new technique, she even broke it down for my to make sure I fully understand this teaching technique.

If you need a tutor, I HIGHLY recommend Laura. She's compassionate with your child and doesn't stop until she finds the way your child learns, and then teaches in that way. I cannot possibly think of anyone better.

Mrs. Shaffer is why I became a teacher! She’s so smart and creative and she helped me see a lot of different pathways for my life. She’s been very helpful and is incredibly knowledgeable. If she doesn’t know, she has no problem telling you that—and then working towards the solution together. She’s incredibly bright in terms of both intelligence and personality.

I have watched Laura work with students who were determined they could not learn Math. She would begin with getting to know the student and from there she knew their learning style. I’ve witnessed her switching up her methods to meet each student’s needs. I have witnessed their confidence build as they were working with her and learning. They did not walk away from the lesson the same way they walked in. Laura has also mentored other math teachers to become the best they could! I would highly recommend her.

Laura is an amazing educator. The best way I could ever express myself of how much I believe in her, is letting you know the impact she made on me.

When I was a young man, Laura would always remind me of my potential and believed in me more than I could ever believe in myself.
She would motivate me to graduate when I was supposed to and I even knocked out 2 years in one! It was Laura who sat me down and gave me my first real talk about hard work and how it shows through life.

Shes an amazing individual with a heart who genuinely cares for those in her sight. She's by far my favorite teacher I ever encountered and appreciate her more than she could ever know!
