About Yajat
I've just finished my A-levels in Maths and Further Maths which means I've recently sat in exactly the same seat as the people I tutor. I still remember which topics felt impossible at first and what finally made them make sense, and that's a big part of why I wanted to start teaching. There's a particular moment when a concept someone has been wrestling with suddenly clicks, and being the person who helps that happen is genuinely the best part of it for me. I also know how much pressure builds around exams, especially in subjects like Maths and Further Maths where it's easy to feel like you either get it or you don't, and I want to show people that understanding is something you build rather than something you're born with. Having gone through the GCSE and A-level content so recently, I can explain it in a way that feels close to how you're being taught right now, not how someone learnt it twenty years ago.

Sessions typically run for an hour and are built entirely around you. I'll start by pinpointing the topics you find trickiest, then work through them step by step until the logic actually clicks, rather than just having you memorise methods to repeat. I tutor both Maths and Further Maths at GCSE and A-level, drawing on my own results of nine grade 9s and a grade 8 at GCSE, along with predicted grades of four A*s at A-level, including Maths and Further Maths. Every tutee also gets access to a custom Discord server containing hundreds of questions collated by topic, so you can keep practising between sessions and bring anything you're stuck on straight to me. My approach is focused on building genuine understanding and exam confidence: I break difficult concepts down into manageable parts, share the shortcuts and exam techniques that make a real difference under timed conditions, and work through past paper questions together so that nothing in the exam feels unfamiliar.
