About Lavanya
Hello, my name is Lavanya, and I am a Year 13 student studying Biology, Chemistry, and Maths. I find teaching enjoyable because I am passionate about STEM and enjoy learning about it daily. Revising for my GCSEs was fun rather than a chore for me. I believe students should pursue STEM as it offers great future opportunities, and high GCSE grades in Maths and Sciences are highly regarded by universities.

I have been tutoring GCSE Maths and Chemistry for a year, focusing on helping students achieve Grade 9. Each lesson lasts about an hour, with the flexibility to extend by 5-10 minutes if needed. My teaching approach is student-centered, allowing them to choose between exam practice and content revision. For content revision, I engage students with questions to stimulate their thinking before explaining the answers. For exam practice, I present timed questions and review the answers using the mark scheme. My lessons cater primarily to Year 10-11 students, but Year 9 students looking to get ahead are also welcome.
