About Brooks
Do you feel stuck playing the same patterns every week? After 11 years of coaching students in my DC studio, I have realized that music is just a language you have not learned yet. I spent 13 years gigging in various bands to refine my own chops.
Teaching rock, blues, and modern styles helps me guide worship players toward secular indie and electric sounds. I have worked with over 100 students on reading sheet music and tabs while mastering electric technique. My focus remains on showing you why songs work the way they do so you can understand the fretboard.

Simplified arrangements of your favorite song requests become the foundation for our time together. Achieving a 9.0 rating in clarity means I break down strumming patterns and lead guitar solos into manageable, rhythmic steps that make sense for your hands.
Students who struggle with grade exam prep find that my self taught perspective removes the intimidation factor often found in formal music education. Building your technique to play cleanly is the primary goal of our 60 minute time slots. By bridging the gap between sacred melodies and secular blues, I keep your practice grounded in real world performance. Keep playing, and I hope to see you in the studio soon for your next session.
