About Tay
Hi, I’m Tay! I’m currently an Emergency Department RN, and I’ve spent the last three-plus years navigating various critical care settings as both a staff nurse and a charge nurse.
I know exactly how intimidating nursing school can be because I’m still a student of the craft myself—I recently completed my EMT-B to prep for a career in Flight Nursing. I believe the best way to learn isn’t by memorizing a textbook, but by understanding the why behind the medicine. Whether you’re struggling with complex Pharmacology, EKG interpretation, or just trying to survive your first clinical rotations, I offer a calm, judgment-free space to break down high-stakes concepts into manageable steps.
I’ve spent years as a preceptor mentoring new staff and students; now, I’d love to help you find your confidence and conquer the NCLEX or your next big exam.

My lessons aren't just about memorizing facts—they’re about understanding the why so you can apply it at the bedside (and on your exams). We’ll use real-world clinical scenarios from my experiences to bridge the gap between theory and practice.
Whether we are tackling Pharmacology, Med-Surg, or Critical Care, I focus on 'unfolding case studies.' We’ll walk through a patient’s journey from triage to discharge, discussing the pathophysiology, the priority interventions, and how to spot those 'red flag' changes in a patient's status. This approach doesn't just help you pass the test; it helps you build the confidence to be a safe, effective nurse.
I teach the way I precept: with patience, curiosity, and a focus on safety. My style is interactive and conversational. I’m not here to lecture at you; I’m here to guide your clinical reasoning.
- Visual & Concept Mapping: We’ll use diagrams and flowcharts to see how different body systems interact (especially helpful for Fluid & Electrolytes or ABGs!).
- The 'Safe Space' Approach: There are no 'dumb' questions. If a concept isn't clicking, we’ll pivot and find a new way to look at it together.
- Lifelong Learning: Because I’m currently pursuing my own advanced certifications, I’m constantly refining my own study techniques. I love sharing the mnemonics, apps, and 'cheat sheets' that actually work for me in the field.
