About Ava
Music is rarely about the notes themselves. Most people ignore the silence between the chords.
I spent 11 years refining my pedagogical approach across multiple disciplines. Having worked with 335 students, I understand exactly what advanced learners require to break through plateaus. My BMus Vocal Performance degree from Trinity Laban Conservatoire provides a unique perspective on phrasing and melodic structure. It allows me to teach guitarists how to sing through their instruments.
I treat every performance-focused student as an individual musician. The progress feels quiet.

Playing guitar is often less about speed and more about the economy of movement. You should learn to play less to hear more. My sessions focus on advanced acoustic technique and improvisation for adults seeking technical precision. I leverage my formal academic training to help you master scales, modes, and complex blues progressions.
Since I offer a free trial session to assess starting level, we can pinpoint your specific goals immediately. We might spend time on songwriting or reading sheet music to ensure your musicianship remains well-rounded. I truly enjoy watching a student finally connect the theory to their own compositions.
