About Mackenzie
Young students and eager hobbyists often find that the gap between theoretical code and functional software is wider than they initially expect. Having spent 10 years as a quant in high-stakes investment banking, I hold a PhD in Applied Math from Harvard and bring that analytical discipline to every concept. My 3 years of experience teaching covers Java, C++, and Python alongside complex database management and object-oriented programming. I focus on the structural logic that governs competitive programming and efficient debugging techniques.
Projects form the backbone of my methodology because they force students to confront real errors in a controlled environment. I believe that providing a foundation in how industry systems are actually built allows pupils to thrive in any technical context. If you want to see if your current skill level aligns with my curriculum, I offer a free trial session.

Code behaves exactly as it is written. We start by dismantling the problem into its smallest logical components before constructing a solution. My background in quantitative finance informs how I teach debugging techniques so that students learn to read their own errors with precision.
Whether we are navigating SQL queries or complex object oriented frameworks, the goal is always clarity. These 3 years of experience have shown me that a simple demonstration often solves the most stubborn roadblocks. By the end, you will understand the underlying mechanics of your code rather than just fixing syntax. Reach out if you are ready to approach programming like a scientist.
