About Abby
"Teaching exists to bridge the gap between simple notes and genuine musical artistry for you. Whether you are 4 years old or preparing for college auditions, I guide your development. My background includes a Doctor of Musical Arts in Violin and performing with the Seattle Symphony.
You will find that my home studio in Boston is a focused space for growth. My 10 years of experience cover everything from basic tuning by ear to complex ear training.
I prioritize building a strong foundation in rhythm, timing, and essential bowing techniques like spiccato and staccato. We work through ABRSM or Trinity exams and deep classical repertoire. My guidance tends to drift toward clear technical mastery."

"Admitting the truth, I find the most joy in seeing a student finally master a difficult shift or complex phrase. My lessons are built on the 10 years of experience I gained from both my degree at the University of Michigan and my time on the concert stage.
You receive free bowing and posture reference notes after each lesson to keep you on track between meetings. Technique remains the backbone of our time together.
We break down the mechanics of your bowing and posture to ensure comfort. You will benefit from a methodical and patient approach during our sessions. I focus on keeping our workflow steady and manageable."
