About Catherine
Sitting down with a guitar usually starts with checking your strumming patterns or diving into blues progressions. I observe your posture and adjust your hand positioning to ensure you play without tension. Because I have a BM Guitar degree, I integrate music theory into power chords and lead guitar work naturally.
Having 13 years of experience means I can translate technical concepts into simple movements for students of all ages. Whether you are a grade exam candidate or a working professional, I provide a practice module with every lesson to keep momentum. Seeing you gain confidence as you master new songs remains the highlight of my week.

Holding a BA French Studies and BM Guitar from Concordia University provides the structural foundation for how I approach music education. I have taught 498 students ranging from returning adult learners to serious performance-focused teens. Integrating my personal narrative as a musician, I help students bridge the gap between reading tabs and understanding deep music theory.
It is truly rewarding to watch a student master complex fingerpicking or improve their improvisation skills. I enjoy the process of watching someone discover their own sound through acoustic technique.
