About Doris
Studying music at the New England Conservatory led me naturally into the world of language instruction after I finished my formal degree. It turns out that teaching French requires the same attention to detail as vocal training, so I emphasize pronunciation and accent and intonation as core pillars.
I incorporate vocabulary building and grammar into our routine to ensure you have the tools for building complex thoughts. My years on stage and in the studio taught me how to listen closely to subtle shifts in sound and rhythm.
I now help students with interview preparation and writing skills by applying that same sharp ear. We work on idioms and expressions to make your speech sound more authentic and fluid. Recorded pronunciation drills for daily practice serve as the foundation for your continued success between our meetings.
I draw upon 13 years of experience to identify exactly where your accent needs a slight adjustment for better intelligibility. My approach keeps our interaction steady and supportive throughout the entire hour. This method emphasizes natural flow over rote memorization of dry rules. You will appreciate how this consistent cadence builds your comfort in speaking a new language.
