About Joyce
I began teaching because I saw music as a universal language that unites newcomer families. My vocal coaching career started 13 years ago alongside my formal training at McGill. I hold a Master of Arts in Music Education and a TESOL certification.
Working with 255 students has shown me how performance confidence stems from technical mastery. I focus on head and chest voice along with pitch control to help performance-focused students succeed. Whether I am helping a kid find their harmony or guiding an adult through rhythm and phrasing, I keep things practical.
My approach is influenced by my work with diverse populations in Vancouver and Toronto. I personally love helping singers find their true character in every note.

You walk into the studio and immediately feel the focus on your posture and breath support. We begin with a specific exercise to open your airway before we tackle a song.
I provide free access to my breathing and warm-up exercise notes for every student to use at home. These exercises are the foundation for any vocal range extension we pursue. My 13 years of experience ensures that even advanced learners find something new to challenge their technique.
We spend significant time on vibrato control and performance confidence. Rhythm is key. You will learn to internalize the beat rather than counting it. Expect a professional atmosphere that remains energetic throughout our time together.
