About Angela
Teaching started for me as a quiet observation of how music shapes the way we hear new sounds and rhythms. Grammar is often just a melody that students have not learned to sing yet.
With a BFA in Music Performance and TESOL certification from Concordia University, I see language as a performance art. My 13 years of experience involve helping over 450 newcomers and professionals find their voice in a new country. I lean into the community choir model where everyone learns by doing. My CELTA training ensures that my methods are grounded in clear, structural pedagogical research.
I have worked with absolute beginners who are terrified of speaking and university applicants aiming for high test scores. Whether you are navigating a job interview or just daily life, my goal is to make the process feel like a natural conversation. Phrasal verbs and complex accents are the primary hurdles that stop learners from feeling truly comfortable. A simple change in focus can often solve years of persistent pronunciation struggles.
These sessions integrate my musical background to help you hear the nuances of English sounds before you even speak them. You will receive free access to my vocabulary notes to keep your learning organized outside of our time together. We work on speaking confidence and listening comprehension by breaking down language into manageable, rhythmic chunks. I incorporate presentation skills to help professionals feel prepared for high-stakes environments.
We also tackle IELTS preparation through structured, goal-oriented practice routines. You will find the environment supportive and deeply focused on your personal growth. It is quite rewarding to see the exact moment when the language finally clicks into place.
