About Kristin
"Tuning and maintenance, lead guitar, blues progressions, chord transitions, music theory, songwriting, reading tabs, and strumming patterns are the pillars of my instruction. I confess that I struggled to master my first barre chord for longer than I care to admit.
My 13 years of performing as a classical vocalist inform how I listen to the nuances of every string. I hold a Master of Music in Vocal Studies from the Royal Academy of Music which keeps my ears sharp for melody. I love working with students who want to build a solid foundation. My goal is to ensure you feel comfortable with your instrument."

"Your first session will focus on assessing your current grasp of the fretboard while we define your musical goals. You might notice that I pay close attention to how you hold your pick because comfort is the secret to longevity. I draw on my 13 years of experience and my classical training to explain complex theory in plain terms. It is quite common for learners to find certain chord transitions difficult, but we will move at your own pace.
Monthly recorded review of progress helps us keep the momentum high. I promise to keep the tone honest and supportive as we work through these concepts together."
