About Elly
Hello! I am about to begin my fourth year as an in-classroom English teacher to middle school and high school students at a classical charter school. I have taught seventh, eighth, ninth, eleventh, and twelfth grades. In my classes I focus on a deep understanding of Literature, explicit grammar instruction (through the use of diagramming), and academic writing. In these areas I am experienced in instructing students from a variety of backgrounds.
I am passionate about teaching ESL students. Through conversation, grammar, and vocabulary I can teach you to speak English with accuracy. I will adapt my lessons to suit exactly your needs and level.
I am TEFL certified and have experience tutoring ESL students ranging from age 7 to adult. I have tutored young students in China since March through an online company. I also provide private weekly lessons online to adult ESL students.
Additionally, I offer private violin lessons based on the Suzuki method. If you are a beginner of any age, this is the best way for you to learn proper violin technique, improve your playing ability, train your ear, and learn to read music all at once. I can teach you to play the violin without developing the bad habits that you would learn if you were teaching yourself.
