About Charles
Adult students seeking a sharp focus on modern music make up my primary base. Music lives in the details. My 13 years of studio and stage work inform how I approach every student from my base at the New England Conservatory.
I integrate pop and contemporary styles alongside dynamics and expression to keep things fresh. Scales and arpeggios sharpen the fingers while sight transposition builds mental agility. Memorization techniques and accompaniment skills round out the technical side of the craft. Seeing a student finally grasp a tricky rhythm brings me genuine joy.
