About Jason
I've worked at the Nashville Zoo as an educator and animal care worker for almost 10 years now so I am expertly equipped to engage people with biological concepts from the simplistic food chains to the most complex of phylogenetics. I've served as a tutor for years throughout my school as well as my undergraduate career. Additionally, I've worked and conducted research in multiple laboratories whether that be with sparrows and birds, rodents and mammals, or fish and crustaceans.

I like to really engage who I'm teaching and I've found that it really helps to understand and remember a concept with the use of analogies or personification. For example, with ionic bonds (bonds where atoms transfer electrons) and covalent bonds (bonds where atoms share electrons), I like to call ionic bonds mean and selfish and "just the worst" but covalent bonds are nice and cuddly and willing to share so that use of personification is a pretty good mnemonic device.
