About Ava
Reaching your target score on an exam happens when you strip away the anxiety of formal settings. You will practice mock speaking scenarios until the rhythm of the language feels entirely natural and instinctive.
I use my BM Music Education and CELTA background to ensure our time together is methodical and rhythmically structured. We will navigate vocabulary building and accent training through clear, logical exercises designed for IELTS candidates. My ESL sessions are grounded in the same patience I use to guide newcomers. Developing clear pronunciation and precise grammar foundations requires hearing the subtle cadence of a language. I work with Grade 3 newcomer kids and adults alike, helping them find their footing in Canada while navigating new social landscapes. My 11 years of experience allow me to pivot between teaching phrasal verbs to absolute beginners and coaching university applicants on idiomatic expressions.
Helping students build conversational fluency is my primary focus. I have worked with a diverse range of people who are currently adapting to life in a new country. It is quite rewarding to see these students gain steady ground, so I continue to provide that support.
