About Sophia
Guitar practice feels grounded and organised in our time together. We work through techniques step by step. You will find that my experience helps me catch small technical errors before they become habits.
I keep the environment encouraging but sharp in its focus on proper hand position and rhythmic accuracy. Grade exam prep is a significant part of my schedule, but I also enjoy helping hobbyists master their favourite songs.
I prioritise clear communication so you know exactly what to practice between meetings. Free chord charts and tab sheets shared after each class ensure you have the materials you need for success. I am ready to begin when you are.

Precision and kindness define my approach to tutoring. I am an Anglican cathedral choir tradition teacher who prioritises accuracy and musicality. My background includes 8 years of performing as a vocalist and 9 years of teaching guitar to absolute beginners, hobbyists, and advanced learners. I understand how to break down barre chords and power chords into manageable steps for any student.
Having supported 393 students, I rely on the rigour I gained at Guildhall to ensure my pupils grasp acoustic technique and reading sheet music effectively. Preparing grade exam candidates for their assessments allows me to see the tangible growth in my students. I look forward to hearing your progress in our sessions.
