About Maryjo
Microphone technique and vocal health are my bread and butter. I help you find your voice.
Over 10 years of teaching, I have worked with 115 students to refine their belting technique, head and chest voice, breathing control, and vibrato control. I also guide you through rhythm, phrasing, and genre styling for pop, classical, or musical theater. My tutoring career began as a favor for a friend's kid and never really stopped.
I keep the vocabulary plain until the idea lands, then we put the proper names on it. I ask a lot of questions before I offer any answers. It is all about building performance confidence.

Singing should be fun above all else, especially when we are digging into the details of your phrasing or stage presence. You might think that technical work is dry, but I keep it light and practical for your specific goals. We review performance recordings together each month to track your progress and celebrate the small wins. Performance is a craft.
I draw on my time as a session player to show you how to protect your instrument and deliver a song that truly lands. Just reach out whenever you are ready to start.
