About Amelia
I love storytelling and helping people shape their stories to make the things they've imagined a reality. I specialize in helping my client pinpoint the narrative and structural gaps in their writing. I also help my clients amplify their unique voices and styles because my job is to help you and your work shine. I've had the privilege of working with various students and clients as a tutor, editor, and writer for over a decade.
I have a Master of Humanities in Creative Writing, a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies, Creative Writing, and Literature, and a Associate of Arts in Creative Writing. I've had several of my pieces published, and honorable at the Spectrum Awards, and a recipient of the 2015 Gary Mitchner Poetry Prize. I love helping people find their confidence, achieve their goals, and live their dream because everyone desires the chance to be the best version of themselves. Whether people realize it or not, writing and storytelling are a big part of our everyday life. Writing is one of the ways that we communicate with each other. Storytelling is how we build an understanding of ourselves, each other, and the world.
As a child, I was told in both words and actions that I could not do something, that I was not smart enough or good enough, and that can destroy confidence. "You can't" instills a fear of failing, and in turn, we never make an attempt because we've told ourselves that we can't. The thing I have loved the most about tutoring people in writing is watching them get excited about writing, expressing their thoughts and feels, and seeing that spark of confidence that they can be successful. At the end of the day for me, the most rewarding part of my work is realizing that my student or client no longer needs my help. My goal isn't to help you get through one assignment or presentation but to set you up for success for the rest of your life.

Amelia always provides quality, thoughtful, and constructive feedback for any pieces of writing I submit. While I love to write the technical stuff, the details like spelling, grammar, and punctuation often get the best of me, so I rely on editors to help me catch the errors. I have worked with many editors over the years, but none of them could explain things in the same direct and easy-to-understand way that seems to come naturally to Amelia. If you need excellent editing or feedback, I recommend giving Amelia a try. Amelia has edited my creative, work-related, and nonfiction writing, and the results have been amazing.
Amelia is one of the most impressive editors that I’ve had the pleasure to work with. Amelia is talented, smart, punctual, and goes above and beyond. I needed a manuscript edited within a short time frame, Amelia made my manuscript a priority and worked tirelessly in the short time frame to get the book back on time. Not only did she do line edits but gave back helpful feedback that made my manuscript flawless. Amelia will always be the editor of choice for me.
