About Ayla
I’m a passionate singing tutor with over 6 years of experience and a Bachelor of Music in Musical Theatre Voice. I’ve had the privilege of guiding students of all ages and backgrounds—from school beginners to college musicians and professional performers. My teaching style is centred on personalisation, ensuring that every lesson fits your voice, goals, and learning pace. I teach a wide range of styles including classical, pop, movie, and folk singing, helping each student discover their unique sound. My lessons combine vocal training with ear development, harmony practice, and music theory to create well-rounded singers. I also incorporate improvisation exercises that spark creativity and build performance confidence. Vocal health is at the heart of everything I do—I use safe, evidence-based techniques to develop strength, range, and control without strain. Hydration is emphasised throughout, encouraging consistent water intake before and after practice for vocal health. I guide students to find healthy vocal placement through body awareness, posture, and relaxed breath flow. For *The Soloist in Training*, we focus on building control, tone clarity, and expressive delivery while maintaining a calm, mindful state before performances. For *The Church Ensemble Player*, we nurture blend, harmony sensitivity, and stamina for long services without strain. Both learn to balance vocal goals with emotional presence, finding peace and joy in each note they sing. I recommend using apps like **Vocal Pitch Monitor** for tracking progress, **Insight Timer** for mindfulness breaks, and **Breathwrk** for guided breathing sessions. Gentle reflection after each practice helps align musical growth with mental calm. Over time, this approach builds not only a strong and expressive voice but also a deeply centred and joyful singer.
