About Talha
I’m an experienced tutor with 10 years of tutoring experience, supporting students across 11+, KS3 and GCSE/IGCSE level. Alongside tutoring, I work full-time as a Senior Data Scientist at HMRC, where analytical thinking and problem-solving are central to my work.
I have continued tutoring throughout my education and professional career because I genuinely enjoy helping students build confidence, overcome difficult topics and achieve their academic goals. I aim to be approachable, patient and encouraging, creating an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning from mistakes.
Outside of work and tutoring, I enjoy swimming, archery and going to the cinema.

My approach to tutoring is personal, patient and tailored to each student. I take time to understand their strengths, weaknesses and goals, then structure lessons around the areas where they need the most support. Lessons are typically two hours and delivered one-to-one, allowing me to adapt the pace and teaching style to each student.
I have 10 years of tutoring experience, teaching 11+, GCSE/IGCSE Maths and KS3 Maths, English and Science. I focus on building genuine understanding rather than simply memorising methods, alongside developing confidence, problem-solving skills and exam technique. Lessons include clear explanations, targeted practice, past-paper questions and regular feedback to help students make measurable progress.

Details
Lessons are £25 per hour and are typically taught in 90 minutes or 2-hour blocks. Teaching materials and resources are included at no additional cost. Online lessons and tuition at my dedicated home tutoring space are charged at the standard rate. Home visits within East London incur an additional £5 per hour travel fee.
