About Catherine
A stiff wrist often ruins a perfectly good melody. I watch your hands adjust to the neck of the guitar while we focus on proper placement. My CELTA training from the University of Toronto helps me explain technical concepts in plain language.
We work on your barre chords or soloing techniques during these blocks of time. You get a free trial session to assess starting level before we commit to a routine. This is the place to fix those bad habits. It just takes a little bit of focus.

The faint smell of rosin and old wood always reminds me of my early days at the University of Toronto. Earning a Bachelor of Music in Education provided the foundation for my 13 years of experience. I support self taught players and hobbyists as they move toward mastering barre chords or improvisation.
My approach helps you navigate reading tabs and ear training with a steady hand. Working with 261 students has shown me that adults often benefit from clear pathways. Music theory provides the map for your fretboard journey.
I teach electric technique alongside the fundamentals of acoustic performance. You will gain the tools to play with ease. Developing your unique sound will be our main priority.
